Do you notice you feel better when you walk barefoot on the Earth?

An article by Dr. Mercola addresses this question and the activity of “Earthing” or “Grounding.”

“Your immune system functions optimally when your body has an adequate supply of electrons, which are easily and naturally obtained by barefoot contact with the Earth. Tetrapods of Japan’s Coastlines

Tetrapod --

Hit the beach anywhere in Japan, and you are likely to see endless piles of tetrapods — enormous four-legged concrete structures intended to prevent coastal erosion. By some estimates, more than 50% of Japan’s 35,000-kilometer (22,000-mi) coastline has been altered with tetrapods and other forms of concrete. Critics, who blame the tetrapod invasion on decades of excessive government spending designed to bolster the construction industry, argue that in addition to posing a danger to swimmers, surfers and boaters, tetrapods actually accelerate beach erosion by disrupting the natural processes that shape the coastal environment. Meanwhile, others have developed an aesthetic appreciation of the tetrapod landscape.

Urban Farm Design

The core of the project by New Zealand architect Tim Stephens (designed for Huntington, Long Island) is a series of planters, angled toward the sun, that both provide workable plots for residents to grow food locally but also define circulation spaces, terraced seating and a sense of balance between openness and enclosure.

Tree (in) House: Eccentric Elevated Los Angeles Hill Home

tree in house

There are some houses that have real trees growing inside or straight up through them – which sounds wonderful, until you consider the problematic fact that a living tree tends to keep growing. This home design takes that cool ‘tree-in-house’ concept and applies it with a series of creative twists, raised up high and visible from the distant downtown of LA.
