The Taylor House, located in Scotland Cay in the Bahamas, was designed by North Carolina architect Frank Harmon.
It is personally one of my favorite pieces of residential architecture. This innovative 3-story home is a perfect example of minimalist, green design and indoor-outdoor living. Without being able to visit the site himself, Harmon was still able to design the home without sacrificing style, efficiency or the context.
The home’s inverted roof is it’s prize feature. Acting as an ‘upside-down umbrella’, it collects up to 8,000 gallons of freshwater as well as naturally cooling the spaces below. Looks cool too!
Everything from the beautiful view, the wood patio, to funky feel of the place makes it a dream home for anybody.
